PAC (polyaluminum chloride)

A chemical injected as a coagulant for treatment of drinking water, sewage, and industrial drainage.

Polyaluminum chloride causes particulates and suspended matter in water to clump together for precipitation.

When mixed with disinfectants (hypochlorous acid chemicals), PAC generates chlorine gas, so care must be taken when refilling a chemical tank.
