Overfeeding

Overfeeding occurs when liquid continues to flow from the piping due to discharge momentum (inertia) even after the pump is stopped. Overfeeding is often noticeable in flows with pulsation, resulting in the liquid being discharged at a greater volume than the rated volume.

Siphoning can be prevented by installing a back pressure valve or an anti-siphon check valve at the injection point.
