Mechanical seal
A typical sealing device used for shaft seals of rotary machines such as pumps and agitators.
Although mechanical seals can be beneficial such as by ensuring minimal power loss by preventing liquid leakage and contamination, accurate adjustment of the contact surfaces on both the rotating and stationary sides must be performed.
