Die coating

A coating method.

This method involves coating a substrate by pushing out the coating solution from a coating device called a die head. Die coating is commonly used in cutting-edge production such as optical films, functional films, and lithium-ion rechargeable batteries.

The film thickness is determined by the discharge volume from the die head and by the speed of the substrate being transferred.

Slot die outlets are set according to the viscosity of the coating solution and the thickness of the target film.

The coating solution can also be supplied to the die head by pressurizing the coating solution tank with air or nitrogen, or by using a pump-based supply system.
