Customer's Needs and Problems

A pump that injects the following chemicals is necessary in the new water purification facility to be constructed.

  • pH adjuster (sulfuric acid)
  • Adsorbent (powdered activated carbon)
  • Flocculant (PAC: polyaluminum chloride)
  • Disinfectant (sodium hypochlorite)
  • The activated carbon is a slurry, so a pump that does not wear out and that does not crush the particles is required.
  • To accurately disinfect the water that flows by at a rate of approximately 2 tons per second, a pump that can stably inject the appropriate amount of sodium hypochlorite is required.
  • To reduce the number of personnel and to make it possible for us to handle emergencies, we want to use a pump that we can maintain.

TACMINA's Solutions

We selected and delivered to the customer a Smoothflow Pump that is optimized for their various applications.

  • Sulfuric acid: A pump with a head made from PVDF, which has excellent corrosion resistance
  • Activated carbon: A pump with excellent resistance to wear and that is dedicated for use with activated carbon
  • PAC: A pump that uses the diaphragm method, which makes it difficult for problems attributable to crystallization to occur
  • Sodium hypochlorite: A pump that is capable of a wide range of control at 1:100 to enable support for changes in the treated volume
  • This pump can perform stable injection with no problems for all of the above chemicals.
  • The pump is compact and easy to handle, and the customer’s staff can perform part replacements and other such maintenance by themselves.
